I had been thinking about doing a redesign for some of the main cast for Hazbin Hotel for a while now, ever since I saw a lot of people doing their own thing when the show first came out a few months ago. My main goal was to take their story elements and their settings and base their designs more closely on that, as well as amplifying existing elements, like animal motifs. Overall, I thought that toning down the bright red that they all seem to have was a good idea, as there are a few instances in the show where it is hard to differentiate the characters from the background, and even each other in shots where they have overlaps. I am not “fixing” these designs, I only thought that it would be a fun idea to put my own spin on their character designs!

Again this was an exercise that was purely for fun and I have no intention of making anyone feel bad about liking the original designs. I just wanted to have a bit of fun imagining how I would personally have gone about designing them!
